This painting combines two aspects of my beloved Southern Italy: a Sicilian children’s toy, my old rocking horse, and the beautiful Calabrian city of Tropea. This painting was in exhibition in Rome at the Galleria Rossocinabro from April to July 2019 and at the digital art exhibition of Arthouse. NYC in June 20 - 22 2019. It was published in the Art Book 2019 Artblend and in February 2020 in World Wide Art Magazine #2
Angela Keller grew up in Switzerland and started to follow a career as palaeontologist. At the same time she started to take lessons in drawing and painting at the School of Arts at the University in Bern and attended art classes under several Swiss painters. In her thirties she immigrated to Italy where she developed to the passionate painter she is today. Angela has received many rewards and exhibited her works in numerous international art shows e.g. in 2019 ARTEXPO NYC, USA, 2018 Spectrum Miami USA, 2018 at Arte Borgo Gallery in Rome and FUTURARTE at the Museum MIIT Turin.
Angela creates experimental, playful artwork with hints of dreams, fantasy, and charm. Her paintings fluctuate between surrealism and symbolism; they are dreamy, otherworldly, and lyrical in their balance between fantasy and reality. She depicts in her works imaginative imagery while also incorporating certain realistic elements, such as the hills of Kabul, the coast of Portugal or the villages in Calabria, in Southern Italy, where Angela currently lives and works.
