Neue Medien u. Digitale Kunst erweitern meine Palette. Teilnahme an vielen Wettbewerben, Malexkursionen und Workshops und Ausstellungen von Berlin über Rom, Malta und Shanghai. It always begins with the idea for a picture. Sometimes the idea comes spontaneously; sometimes it emerges from a piece of work that I have already started. And then the idea has to be transformed into a work of art. At this stage, every brush stroke decides whether the work is destined for success or for failure. The creative expression of the work should convey something of my style. When it comes to "new media" digital art, I regard myself as an avantgardist, spurred on by the tremendous possibilities that this medium offers. My work encompasses a broad spectrum and does not just focus on a single theme. What I seek to achieve is "landscape painting" in abstraction or in combination with collages or in the style of the North German Realists, executed in oils or acrylic. I trained at the Famous Artists School in Osdorp, Amsterdam, Holland. Artists such as Albert Dorne and Normal Rockwell shaped my foundations and my progress. In the early days my fields of activity included lettering, posters and set design through to commercial graphic art. Lengthy employment with a Dutch company whose parent group was based in Sweden. I like taking part in "summer academies" as this gives me the opportunity to learn new things and to exchange ideas with colleagues. For example, I took part in summer painting courses in Bad Schandau in Saxon Switzerland in 2010, where I was able to work and wander along Caspar David Friedrich's "Malerweg" (painter's path). In 2011 I took part in competitions organised by the "Hungriger Wolf" (hungry wolf) artists' colony and was accepted into the colony. (up to 2012) Painting holiday in Murnau - a week with Edmont Kies. Biography:
