From the Corona series by Sillé.
Ill-info illustrates a citizen who is ill-informed about the new corona viris. Her crown is decorated with caduceus rods, and has wings on both sides covering her ears. On her face she is wearing the veil of ignorance
Dianara Maria Sillé is a self-taught artist, writer and poet. Dianara was born on August 5, 1976 in Curaçao and moved at age 11 to the Netherlands. From a young age, she developed great interest for art and literature. She published her first autobiography in 2017.
At the age 12 she began drawing and started painting early 2000s. Sillé developed a style of her own that stands out due to her caricature-like religous paintings and her love for freedom fighters and civil rights activists. Much of her work is quite dark and has an unusual use of color. Others are influenced by traumatic events from her adolescence. The combination of these subjects and the unusual colors are what make her contemporary painting style powerful.
