My paintings are either object oriented or not, rather spontaneous and experimental.
My aim is to achieve balance in the colors and form which I consider quite neccesary.
I do not give my pictures names. I look upon them as somewhat like a poem without words.

Sigurborg Stefánsdóttir is an Icelandic artist, born and raised in Iceland. She studied art at “Skolen for Brugskunst – Danmarks designskole”, now KADK, in Copenhagen Denmark from 1982-1987,
graduating from the school´s drawing and graphic arts faculty, as well as attending the textiles department for a year. Her interest in various art forms has led her to seek out various courses and seminars, for example in the USA, Japan and Mexico
She taught for several years at the Icelandic School of Arts and Crafts and at the Icelandic University of the Arts.
Sigurborg now concentrates exclusively on her own artwork and has a studio at Grensásvegur 12A, Reykjavik.
Sigurborg has participated in many joint exhibitions worldwide, as well as exclusive exhibits approximately every other year.
Her paintings are modern, both figurative and abstract. In her works she utilizes many different techniques, such as collage, printing, drawing and many more.
