It's about a fase in life, in which a lot happend and new questions come up. Is she hiding? Is she stepping out into the world? Bald head shows the vulnerability and the roses represent the years of marriage. Is she fading or is she rising to shine? You choose!

Born on December 21, 1965 in Soest, after my 1st working career, my life was mainly focused on raising my children. In 1988 I moved from Soest (Utrecht) to Gauw (Friesland) and lived two periods in Curaçao in the respective periods 2002–2005 and 2012–2015. Traveling and living abroad have ensured that I got a lot of life experience and culture in my 'backpack', my art has always been a reflection on that. From an early age I've always been busy with drawing, coloring or painting. At a young age, a new sketchbook was the most beautiful gift of all, which strengthened my passion for drawing. Around 1984 I expanded my knowledge with a fashion drawing course and Sumi-E painting. In 1989 I started with watercolors and in 2010 the medium acrylic was added. In 2016 I participated in workshops on Vedic Art, in the summer of 2017 I expanded this knowledge during a summer camp of 2 weeks on the island of Öland (Sweden) located in the Baltic Sea. In Curaçao I was first confronted with the opportunity to sell my work. Before this I often gave my art away as a gift. A turning point came when my own parents were willing to buy my art. Inspired by the beautiful colors and the beautiful light on this tropical island in the Caribbean Sea, paintings of similar colors quickly came out of my hands. Wonderful to be busy like that. Living on this continent and getting to know the local language, I chose the name under which I present my work; Artistico. Artistico means artistic in Papiamento, the official language of the country of Curaçao. I couldn't wish for a better name and .nl was added after the last international move.
