Covid madness

Material: Acrylic painting on canvas
Size: 70 cm x 70 cm cm

Self portrait in the mood of pandemic time, when people are obligated to protect themselves against COVID 19. One can go out of his mind thinking about it. This is a kind of artistic performance from the surrealistic time that all of us have to experience now.
I dreamt of being an artist when I was a child, however I was also interested in the biology of a human body and therefore I became a doctor of medicine specialized in dermatology. Even though I liked my proffession, I had missed my passion to create art for many years. Suddenly in 2014 some impulse made me paint the detail of my face and my finger in the very close focus. The result impressed me surprisingly so much that I realized I would never stop to continue painting. Initially I created soft pastel pictures on paper and then my love for acrylic paints appeared. Soon I stared to study painting and graduated with distinction from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw (Poland). In my art I like to concentrate my attention on gestures and human body details. Some of my works are supposed to be conceptual and show in a minimalistic way various thoughts, ideas or emotions that I want to share with the world. I love also to create pictures that bring direct and simple impressions or even immediate unconditioned reactions of the viewers, for example sensory images of the taste or of the smell. Therefore I often use intensive, pure colours that can enhance the visual impressions. I would call my art a chilling neo-pop art. One should feel relaxed, sometimes smile or contemplate while watching my works. In general I want my art to have a positive and clear message to people all over the world.
