Elvira van Bronckhorst

Material: Acrylic paint and fluorescent paint on canvas
Size: 120 x 120 cm

A burst of floating spheres and bubbles represents the lock down and social distancing. Sudden bliss can catch you off guard; new bonds are created. It's a journey into the unknown. Using uv light, floating particles in fluorescent paint are magically revealed (invisible in the photo).
Elvira van Bronckhorst is an artist who not only excels at painting but is also skilled as a goldsmith and carpenter. Her work is mostly related to her past although she uses her imagination to delve into the past, present and future. She is fascinated by architecture and mechanical features. Elvira manages to combine reality with imagination, working either intuitivly or structured. In her artwork Elvira aims to challenge the viewer to interpret it in their own way, to create their own story. When a viewer truly uses their eyes they will see more than they expected to see.
