Håvard: In this picture I had to try to pin the expression on his face, the mood, on canvas. Some people tell stories and describe landscapes and people and breathe life into them when they tell these stories about them - what they have been through and how they have fared in life. They describe in words so that the audience get to know the person's emotional life. I feel like I lack words to do this. I do not remain unaffected by people. I see a lot I think, but I can not put it into words. But what I can not do with letters I try to get down on the canvas with paint.  I'm trying to show who these people are, how they affect me and how they feel to me. I'm looking for the beauty in their vulnerability, in what they radiate, and try to pin that beauty down on canvas - trying to transform and create beauty in what I see. There are many types of beauty and I am concerned with them in all forms ... especially amazed by eyes ... eyes that tell ... they tell me a feeling that I can not put into words but that I have to try to recreate in my pictures ... eyes ... they tell so much.
