Charlotte Gerrard

Hot tomato

Material: Acrylic and gold leaf on canvas
Size: 100 x 100 cm

In May 2020 I planted tomato seeds that I tended to every day since, yet despite such loving attention to over 35 plants it has been a poor crop. So I have painted a big resplendent tomato to replenish all that disappointment..
Charlotte creates unique and optimistic imagery of animals. She is an avid environmentalist and her work strives to portray the worthiness of animals in our society. Her paintings of animals are brought to life through her magnified use of colour and ethnic gold embellishment. Charlotte’s work celebrates a love of nature, print, pattern and an exquisite use of colour. She expresses her passion for travel, particularly her love of India through her art. Inspired by the natural world and the rich colours of her travels, Charlotte uses her unique creativity to produce truly exquisite and sophisticated works of art that will nourish the heart and warm the soul. Her clients can’t resist buying her work because “Charlotte's art converts people into art buyers because it’s so accessible.”
