'Dutch Treat' is homemade in every sense: baked and painted. And really: it was blue. With deliciously messy cream and gelly on top. The challenge in this painting was catching the essence of the ingredients. The tranparancy of the gelly, the crumbles of the cake, the color variations and movement of the whipped cream. A painting that speaks to the senses. Only after the title came to mind, it occurred to me the colors matched the Dutch flag. Perfect fit for a real Dutch treat.
