Moonlit Woods

Material: Mixed Media including gemstones and epoxy resin
Size: 80 x 60 cm

My ‘Moonlit Woods’ 60 x 80cm painting took a while to complete……I had so many doubts about it. I feel almost addicted to using these gem stones but the bling factor is scary…..! I stuck so many stones on and added a layer of epoxy resin over the stones. ThenThen I left it for months. It just stared at me. How to finish it? It’s now complete and full of bling factor colour. All this extra shininess and colour helped me through the last few months.
Exhibition: The Hague, Korte Vijverberg 2 - Open van 28 oktober tot en met 14 november 2021, van donderdag t/m zondag. I came to live in The Netherlands at the tender age of 19, leaving my art education at York College of Arts and Technology behind. Now I've lived in The Hague more years than I did in England. Suffice to say I love it here. I work as an art therapist and carer as well as spending a lot of time on my own art in my Haagsche studio. The last 12 months have been tough losing loved ones and missing my family in England. Painting has helped me enormously in my process.
