This is a painting about need, longing, remembering, losing, about not to forget.
Cecile Welten (1958, the Netherlands) is a completely self-taught figurative watercolor painter who started painting in 2018 at the end of her medical career. Being used to observe people, their moods, their expressions, she strives to incorporate their narratives in her paintings.
She paints with watercolor as the magic of this living, clean and transparent medium totally captivated her by how it gives life to her paintings. Inspired by the work of Ali Cavanaugh she mainly paints on alternative substrates like panels and mineral paper.
